About the Team
Ellie and Orion Heyman have built their relationship together through food and adventure. Meeting in 2011 at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, they discovered a mutual passion for fine dining. After graduating, they honed their skills in Michelin-starred and James Beard winning restaurants across the United States. They spent years working at renowned restaurants such as Blue Hill and Gramercy Tavern in New York, and Blackbird and Boka in Chicago.
Their culinary journey was not confined to high-end kitchens; it was a global exploration. From the vibrant markets of Mexico City to the bustling streets of Hanoi and New Delhi, they immersed themselves in diverse culinary traditions. This worldly experience enriched their culinary repertoire and fueled their creativity.
Their shared dream became a reality when they owned a beloved local restaurant in Whitefish, The Wich Haus, focusing on locally-sourced, fresh takes on sandwiches. Though they’ve moved on, their commitment to crafting innovative dishes remains. Today, Ellie and Orion celebrate the art of cooking with a respect for quality ingredients, sharing the wonderful products of Montana, and creating community over food one dish at a time.
